MOQ in Turkish Manufacturing

Minimum order quantity is usually the first constraint that surprises new buyers — either because a quoted MOQ is higher than expected, or because they assumed Turkish manufacturers would automatically be more flexible than Asian ones.

The reality sits in between. Turkish MOQs are often lower than equivalent Chinese factories for the same product, particularly in furniture and textiles, because production runs are structured around a domestic and EU market that itself demands smaller, more frequent batches.

That flexibility isn't universal, though — it depends heavily on the product's tooling requirements. A product needing custom molds or dies will carry a real minimum tied to amortizing that tooling cost, regardless of country.

The practical approach is to negotiate MOQ alongside price and lead time as a package, not in isolation — a manufacturer may accept a lower MOQ at a slightly higher unit price, which is often the better trade for a buyer validating a new product before committing to volume.
